
Walter D. Pharr, MD

Dr. Pharr is originally from Charlotte, NC. Greensboro has been his home since 1991. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College and his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine. His training in Internal Medicine was completed in 1989 at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington, VT.
Dr. Pharr is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed in medicine in the state of North Carolina. He is an active staff member at Moses Cone Hospital and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UNC. Dr. Pharr is active in the training of current medical students.
Dr. Pharr’s interests outside of work include horticulture, traveling, internal politics and Medical Volunteer work in Pakistan, Nicaragua, Nepal, Peru and Greensboro, NC. He serves as an Assistant Scout Master at Boy Scout Troop 101 in Greensboro. Dr Pharr recently was inducted into the Eugene S. Mayer Honor Society for Community Service.
Ajith Ramachandran, MD

Dr. Ramachandran is originally from Newtown, Connecticut. Greensboro has been his home since 2003. He earned his Pre Medical education at Trivandrum Arts College in India and his Doctor of Medicine from Trivandrum Medical College in India. His training in Internal Medicine was completed in 1998 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.
Dr. Ramachandran is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed in medicine in the state of North Carolina. He is an active staff member at Moses Cone Hospital and is a member of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Ramachandran has strong clinical interests in diabetes, geriatrics and migraine management.
Dr. Ramachandran’s interests outside of work include tennis, skiing, photography and spending time with his wife and children.

Catherine R. Barefoot, PA-C

Catherine was born and raised in Greensboro. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from NC State and her Physician Assistant Bachelor of Science from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Catherine is a board certified Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board and is an active staff member at Moses Cone Hospital.
Catherine’s interests outside of work include traveling, walking and hiking, nutrition and wellness and Good Shepherd’s Fold Orphanage. Catherine also serves as a certified yoga instructor at Pyramids. She also recently returned from a Medical Mission trip to Uganda.

Brian J. MacKenzie, MD

Dr. MacKenzie grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon completion of his training in 2009 he moved back to Greensboro. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Vanderbilt University and his Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His training in Internal Medicine was completed in 2005 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Dr. MacKenzie is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed in medicine in the state of North Carolina. He is an active staff member at Moses Cone Hospital and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. MacKenzie’s interests outside of work include running, hiking, golfing and spending time with his family.
Dr. MacKenzie offers daily appointments beginning at 7:30 am.





James Y. Kim, MD

Dr. Kim is originally from Sandusky, Ohio. Greensboro has been his home since 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of Ohio. His training in Internal Medicine was completed in 2002 at Brown University, the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Kim is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed in medicine in the state of North Carolina. He is an active staff member at Moses Cone Hospital and is a member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Kim’s interests outside of work include golf, swimming, gardening and taking his two daughters horseback riding.
